Iowa has done this for twenty years. It is only now reaching farm ground.
We purchase and option Iowa land for data center development. The campuses near the metros came first. What is happening now is developers looking at ordinary row crop country, and not everybody is pleased about it.
See if your land qualifiesNo cost, no obligation, and no pressure. We answer either way.
See if your land qualifies
Tell us about your property. There is no cost and no obligation. If it does not fit, we will tell you plainly.
Thank you. We have enough to log it. One more page and we can actually evaluate it.
These take about two minutes. Skip anything you do not know. Guessing is fine.
Thank you. We will review the property and come back to you with a plain answer either way, including if it does not fit.
Who you are dealing with
We are the buyer, not a middleman
The experience here is real and it is not all comfortable
Iowa communities have lived alongside these facilities long enough to have formed opinions, and in 2026 several rural areas pushed back publicly on new development, with residents saying they were left out of decisions. That is part of the picture and we would rather set it out than have you discover it at a county meeting.
Wind built the grid you would be connecting to
Iowa has generated a larger share of its electricity from wind than any other state, and the transmission that moves it is why so much of this country is viable at all. Ground near that network inherits an advantage it never paid for.
We are buying, and we say no plainly
We sit on the other side of the table from you. Take anything we send to your own attorney first. And when your ground does not suit this, which is the usual outcome, we tell you rather than leaving you waiting.
How it works
Four steps, and we do most of the work
You tell us about the land
Send us the county, roughly the acreage, and what you have noticed around the place. Mention any wind lease or easement. Where you are unsure, say so instead of guessing.
We check it against public records
We look up who serves you, what transmission is nearby, and what your county has already done about projects of this kind. Almost all of it is public record and none of it costs you.
We call you if it looks workable
If it looks workable we come back with what we found and what we would want to do next. If it does not, we tell you so and give you the reason.
We make an offer, or we tell you why not
Documents come at the end rather than the beginning. Your attorney reads anything before you act on it, and until that point we have asked you for nothing but a description of the place.
Iowa
Selling land for a data center in Iowa
Iowa is further along this road than any other state we work in, which cuts both ways for a landowner. The utilities have connected facilities like this repeatedly, the counties near the metros know the process, and the wind build left transmission across a great deal of the state. What is new is developers moving out of the metro edges and into farm country. So the questions are whether transmission reaches you, whether your county has been through this, and how your neighbours feel about it. Send us the county, a rough acreage, and what you have noticed nearby. We check public records at no cost and answer either way.
More about IowaNot sure if your land is worth asking about?
Ask anyway. Checking costs you nothing, and the properties that turn out to work are often ones the owner assumed were ordinary.
